Hi! If you are reading this, chances are you are as much a photography nerd as I am. If you are interested in experimenting with historic photography techniques or if you are looking for easy to follow how-to's for cheap and cheerful photography based kids activities, you have come to the right place.

I am originally from Germany, but now live in the North West of England. I work as a part-time socially engaged photographer, weekend drama teacher and part-time teaching assistant. I enjoy experimenting with old photography and photo-development techniques, mainly based on the instructions in this book: The Darkroom Handbook by Michael Langford.

In this blog, I will be writing about my progress with some of these experiments, but also about how to adapt them into activities that are safe for children and easy to replicate at home. I might write about my experience of turning a window-less bathroom into an at-home darkroom, how to keep the cost down when purchasing materials, and how to explore and celebrate other historic crafts through photography.

For now, I am going to enjoy this fine Spring morning in fresh air, so I can soon update you all with a post about how wonderful it is to get to photograph lambs in April in the English countryside.
